Donald "Don" Dean Williams

Funeral services for Don Williams, an 83-year-old Buffalo resident who passed away on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020, at the Johnson Health Care Center following a short battle with COVID-19, were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints in Buffalo with Bishop Don Hilton officiating. Interment was in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside rites held immediately following the funeral.

Donald Dean Williams was born on July 13, 1937, in Lusk to Leonard and Essie Williams. He grew up and went to school in Lusk. After school, Don worked on ranches as a carpenter. He joined the Wyoming National Guard and later joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in German. He was honorably discharged in 1962 and returned to Lusk.

He married Nancy Whitney and later moved to Buffalo, where they raised their four grandchildren. In 1973, Don and his brother Gary started Prestige Builders construction company. In 1974, he and Nancy purchased the Idlewild Café and Bar. Don and Nancy divorced in 1975 and he continued to work in construction.

Don married Mary Sue Ramsey in 1977 and they continued living in Buffalo, where they raised their two sons. In 2001, Don and Mary Sue purchased Big Horn Statuary, which they continued to operate until his death.

He is survived by his wife Mary Sue Williams of Buffalo; two sons, L.D. Williams and companion Kori of Gillette and Clayton Williams and wife Brenda of Casper; one daughter Debra Curley and husband Terry of Gillette; three brothers, Gary Williams and wife Ellen of Arizona, Melvin Williams of Washington and Terry Williams and wife Dana of Lusk; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Donald Edward and David Williams; one daughter Terri Williams; and five brothers and two sisters.
