Lance Creek Woman Succumbs to Illness in Lusk Last Sunday
Mrs. Leona Stewart, age 40, wife of Arthur C. Stewart of Lance Creek, passed away at the Lusk hospital Sunday night, January 11, 1925.
Mrs. Stewart was brought to the hospital a couple days preceding her death, but the disease peritonitis, had developed to such a stage that it was impossible to save her life.
Leona Myers Stewart was born in Petersburg, Nebr., April 18, 1884 and with her husband and several children have been living at Lance Creek for a number of years.
The body was prepared for burial at the Austin, Elquest, Slack Co. undertaking parlors and on Tuesday evening, a brother, Charles Myers and her husband accompanied the remains to the old home at Petersburg for burial.
