Mart Sheridan Stuart was born on September 20, 1942 in Logan, Utah. He was the only child of Luella Ball and Sherman Stuart. They owned several acres of land and animals and cultivated a community of hard work and devotion to their animals in the foothills of Clarkston, Utah. Mart grew up knowing exactly who he wanted to be and had the support and love from his family to follow his dreams. He was a successful, hard-working and devoted Hereford cattle breeder that loved and cherished every opportunity that he had to manage and be with his Herefords. Despite the many challenges of being a second-generation Hereford breeder, Mart uprooted his whole life, everything that he had known for 44 years and moved with his wife and stepchildren to Wyoming. His intention was to start over and forge his name as a respected and high-quality Hereford breeder. He was successful and became recognized nationally and internationally for his quality of breeds and knowledge of the industry. He was determined to do what he loved with the woman he loved until his last breath.

Unfortunately, his health wouldn’t allow him to continue. So, he reluctantly sold his cattle and leased his land. It was all that he had known, so the inability to do what he was so passionate about only brought him despair. He held on to his life with his devoted wife Virginia and their animals. He found joy in staying involved in the cattle industry by attending state fairs, cattle shows and mentoring young ranchers. He was even able to pick up a couple of hobbies which included watching his favorite football team, the Denver Broncos, going to rodeos and keeping adept at all the current events. He did everything he could to enjoy his last few years with his wife, community and animals. It was a tough time with a lot of uncertainty but through it all, the community of nurses, physician assistants, doctors and various other community members provided him with the hope he needed to enjoy his last few years. He was grateful for everyone and their patience while he was grasping onto what he had left. In the end, Mart lived an ideal life of a person who had the privilege of doing what they love and being loved.

We will miss Mart and will forever remember you as the most hard-working, devoted and supportive husband, step-father and step-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Sandra Stuart; and his stepchildren: Amina Rashid and Halima and Guillermo Barron; and step-grandchildren Hawken (31), Briklan (17), Kira (21), and Stryker (17) Rashid, and Gisselle (12) and Collette Barron (9) and cousin-in-law, Emma Louise Carlson Turner.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Luella Ball Stuart, his father, Sherman Stuart, and his stepson, Dr. Ahmed Ali Rashid.
