The angel of death visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Wood last Tuesday night and took with it the life of their infant child, a sweet little girl of about six months, and went the road we all must travel sooner or later. The little one was sick but a few days and during that time suffered with bronchitis, when death finally came and relieved it of its suffering. Little by little its strength vanished and at last, without pain or a struggle it passed away. Dead! Ah, what a world of meaning in one short word. It signifies the closing of a career and the shattering of hopes and happy prospects for a brilliant future. It means tears for mother and sister, weary heartache for father and brother. And they all loved it so dearly. But why expatiate? Why tear open afresh the hearts of relatives and friends by long recital of the way in which it was so dearly loved at home? Funeral Services were conducted by Rev. Garner in the M.E. church and the remains interred in the Lusk burying grounds. Peace to its ashes.
