Zola Emmajean Bolin

Zola Bolin,age 84, of Lusk, Wyoming passed away at Niobrara Health and Life Center assisted care unit. She was born October 4, 1938 to Robert and Nellie Goldsberry. Zola was born and raised on the Westside of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Zola graduated from the Colorado Springs High School on June 7, 1956. On October 24, 1956, she married Clarence Bolin. They were married 19 years and had two children together.

They lived in Colorado Springs, CO and after the kids got older she went to Southern Colorado State College in Pueblo CO to get her teaching degree. In 1971, they started building a house in Monument, CO and in 1972 they moved in. The fall of 1972 she qualified to teach.

Zola was a District 38 teacher in Monument, CO, for 21 years and the summer school director for several years. Her students remember her classes hatching baby ducks, taking field trips to a ranch, making tin can ice cream and learning to read. Not only was she a 1st and 2nd grade teacher she loved giving piano lessons. She retired from District 38 in 1997 and decided to move to Wyoming. She still kept in touch with all her dear Teacher friends who she had breakfast with a lot at the Village Inn in Monument, where she also was a hostess weekends and in the summer months.

In 1997, she bought a house in Lusk, WY. She did this to be closer to some of her grandchildren. Her house in Lusk was used as the in-town-house for not only her grandkids but other country kids as well. They stayed there for school events and 4-H activities. Many lunches were served by her to her grandkids when they were in High School. She was a substitute teacher for Niobrara School District for several years. Zola did so many crafts from making Christmas ornaments, basket weaving, making cards and quilting. One of her favorite hobbies was spinning wool, felting and weaving the wool she got from her daughter’s family sheep. You could always count on a cappuccino when you stopped by her house. There was never a grandkid sporting event missed and oh how she loved the Niobrara County Fair. Who could forget all the picture’s she took and helping put them in scrapbooks. She loved going to the Ranch. The Lusk Coffee/Walking Ladies: Coffees, brunches and Lunches! Friendship, Walking, Talking, Laughter, Smiling and Joking.

Zola was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2014 and moved to Mountain Plaza Assisted Living in Casper, WY. In 2021, she was moved to a nursing home in Lusk, WY so she could be closer to her daughter. Everyone loved her there and she will be remembered for her smile and laugh.

Zola is survived by her brother Ken Goldsberry, two children Bob (Chris) Bolin, Vicki (Lee) Brown, granddaughter Kitson (JV) Boldon, grandsons Cameron (Hillary) Brown, Troy Bolin, Brett (Lisa) Bolin, Robert (Heather) Erbes and great-grandsons Mason, Bryce and Preston Bolin, great-granddaughters Leah and Lydia Boldon, Brindel, Lynlee and Shelby Brown and Anabel Bolin, as well as nieces and nephews, her extended family and host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Nellie Goldsberry and her sister-in-law Phylis Goldsberry

A grave side service will be held at the Fairview Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado on September 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m
