Vonie Hatch, 90 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska went home to be with Jesus on
Friday, July 7, 2023. She was born June 2, 1933, to Ted and Lillian (Kelly)
Gable, the youngest of 4 children, with 3 older brothers. She grew up near
Scottsbluff on the family farm and graduated from Scottsbluff High School in
1950. She worked for a couple of years before marrying her best friend, Jim
Hatch, in 1952. Many happy memories were made at their Sioux County ranch,
where both sons were raised. They moved to Scottsbluff in 2008 when Jim’s heath
failed, and he passed away in 2008 after 56 years of marriage.

She served on several county boards over the years and was involved in 4-H
with both sons. She and Jim accepted Christ as their Savior and were active
members of Henry Bible Church until his death in 2008. They were faithful in
their walk with the Lord and after Jim’s death, Vonie helped Pastor Don and
Betty Jo Mathis with their nursing home ministry on Sunday mornings at Golden
Living Center in Scottsbluff.

Vonie is survived by son Jeff and his wife Susie of St. George, UT and their
children, Jolie (Blake) Delong and daughter Lila of Phoenix, AZ, and Tom
(Carrie) Hatch and daughters, Shelby and Lena, of Big Piney, WY; son Will and
his wife Sarah of Torrington, WY, and their children Emily, Noah, Elijah, and
Madison; niece Cleta Gable-Nuss and her husband Randi of Scottsbluff, NE and
their family, sharing in many hours of dinners, cards, laughter, and love. She
is also survived by her brother Gary and his wife Arlabeth of Terrytown, NE;
sisters-in-law Dee Hatch of Torrington, WY, and Rachel Gable of Alta Loma, CA;
dear friend, Delores Nuss, as well as Jane Gabel, who took care of her over the
last year, and became a dear friend over the last year.

She was preceded in death by her precious husband, Jim; parents, Ted and
Lillian; her brothers Bill Gable and wife MaryAnn of Scottsbluff, and Ted Gable
of California; beloved in-laws Earl and Nellie Hatch; and sister-in-law, Helen
Spencer and her husband Guy, and brother-in-law Lyle Hatch.

Cremation has taken place and Jim and Vonie requested that their ashes be
mingled and scattered in Sioux County. Services are pending for a later date.
Memorials may be made to Frontier School of the Bible in LaGrange, WY. Fond
memories and condolences may be left at www.dugankramer.com. Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel is
