Ron Meier, age 77, of Torrington, Wyoming, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado after a short illness. Cremation has taken place, and per his request, there will be no services. There will be inurnment at Fairview Cemetery, Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

Ron was born at Scottsbluff, NE on February 24, 1948 to Carl and Rachel (Gantz) Meier. He grew up on farms in the Scottsbluff area, and graduated from Minatare Highschool in 1966.

Ron served in the army from 1969-1971 and was a Vietnam Veteran. He earned several medals, including the Purple Heart.

Ron met his wife, Donna Graves, from Lance Creek, Wyoming in 1975, and they married in 1976. They enjoyed 48 years of marriage, and had two children, Chris and Shawna.

Ron was a Metropolitan Life Insurance agent at Scottsbluff for many years. In 1980, Ron and Donna moved to Casper, Wyoming, where Ron began working for Westinghouse Corporation in electrical distribution and sales. He was transferred to Lakewood, Colorado in 1984. Eaton Corporation bought the Westinghouse division Ron worked for, and he retired from Eaton in 2010, after 30 years with the company.

After multiple trips from Lakewood to Scottsbluff and Lusk to help aging parents, Ron and Donna moved to Torrington, Wyoming in 2012 to be closer to them.

Ron enjoyed golfing in the summers, and he bowled on two leagues at Gering this past winter. He enjoyed almost any card game. He loved his Nebraska Cornhuskers and anything football related.

Even though he had been retired for 15 years, his old co-workers were upset with the news of his passing and sent many expressions of fond memories during their time working with Ron. He will also be greatly missed by his family, and his Scottsbluff and Torrington friends.

Survivors include his wife, children, aunts, cousins, in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gary and Greg, sister, Shari, and most recently, his life-long friend, Butch Steele.
