William Harley Cushman

Harley Cushman, age 88, was at home when he left this world to go to heaven on May 4, 2025. Graveside services will be held at the Jireh Cemetery Highway 85 N Jireh Rd Keeline, Wyoming, on Sunday, May 11 at 1 p.m., with a reception to follow at the Shooting Sports Arena at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds in Lusk for fellowship.

William Harley Cushman was born in Longmont, Colorado, on September 30, 1936, to Lewis (Bud) and Amy Cushman. One of five brothers and one sister.

They lived a wonderful & adventurous life on the farm and in the high country of Boulder County, Colorado.

The Cushman and Gould families were some of Colorado's first pioneer settlers before it was established as a state. His lifelong passion was being a cowboy. He lived the life many dreamed of. Riding broncs and bulls, roping, training, and trading on horses and cattle. He quickly made friends in the local community, in the sale barn, and anywhere he went.

He married Dolores Ann Gingery in Lyons, Colorado, on November 18, 1956. They shared 69 memorable years together. Ranching and raising their five children to love the western lifestyle also. He served as a volunteer fireman for 25 years with the Hygiene, Colorado department.

Harley was at home when he left this world to go to heaven on May 4, 2025 at age 88. He was proceeded in death by his parents and brothers, Lewis, Walt, Charles and Johnny.

He is survived by his wife Dolores, sister Margaret (Don) Smith, Children: Dan (Barbara) Cushman, Steven (Debbie) Cushman, Dawn (Marlin) Godfrey, Janette (Greg) Starck, & Della (Bryan) Gibbons. Also, 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandson.

The Pier Funeral Home in Lusk, Wyoming, is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
