Algera Jensen, 88, passed away August 26, 2025, in Lusk, Wyoming. She was born to Billie and Elmer Nelson on September 18, 1936, in Lance Creek, Wyoming. Algera was raised on “The Place” with her brother Andy. She attended grade school at Lance Creek and graduated from Manville High School. Algera and Don Jensen raised their five children in various states; over the years, she worked as hard as any man and always had a meal on the table at the end of the day.

After Don’s death, Algera renewed her friendship with Dennis John- son. They went on many adventures in their camper, visiting friends and family. Later on, the highlight of her day was coffee breaks and visiting with anyone who stopped by. Algera enjoyed making pies that were outstanding (even if she didn’t get Grand Champion at the fair). She loved sharing her banana bread with family and friends or trading for eggs. Every Friday, you could find her playing Bingo at the Senior Center, hoping to win black out. Many Sundays were spent hosting card parties and playing pinochle with friends.

Algera is survived by Dennis Johnson; Children, Candy (Robert) Sedlacek, Chris (Jerri) Jensen, Carol (Bill) Bell, Casey (Tammie) Jensen, Connie (Wade) Ayers; Grandchildren, Brenda (Allen) Chafin, Joe (Kristy) Sedlacek, Kenny (fiancé Kim) Jensen, Jackie (Paul) Bauder, Chad (Valery) Bell, Jamie (Jeff) Lange, Charlie (Courtney) Bell, Cortney (Chris) Jones, Cooper (Taylor) Jensen, Amber Jensen, Sara (Jeff) Coons, TJ (Tatum) Ayers, Jeb (Cortney) Ayres; 33 Great-Grandchildren, and 8 Great- Great-Grandchildren. Stepchildren, Laurie Arguello, Cheri (Trek) Assaf; 4 Step Grandchildren and 8 Step Great-Grandchildren.

Algera was preceded in death by her parents, Billie and Elmer Nelson; her brother and sister-in-law, Andy and Gloria Nelson; her husband, Don Jensen; and her grandchildren, Rindy Jensen, Jeff Coons, and stepdaughter, Cheri Assaf.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Prairie Hills Community Church in Lusk, Wyoming, with coffee to follow. Pastor Ty DesEnfants will officiate. Burial will be in the Manville Cemetery.
