Larry Lee Stone

Larry Lee Stone, age 85 of Lusk, passed away peacefully at Prairie Pines in Lusk, on September 3, 2025.

Larry was born on August 13, 1940, in Colorado. Larry was adopted by
Harve and Lois Stone in 1942. He was raised with his three sisters,
Cheryl, Libby, and Trinket, in Bondurant. Larry was a good big brother,
and his sisters dearly loved him. They rode horses and gardened for fun.
He did have a green thumb. Larry said that his sister Cheryl was always
the most significant influence in his life. Larry also had two half-
brothers, Michael and Jim, and one-half sister, Terri, from his
biological mother, Jeanne Stone-Duggan, Harve’s sister.

Larry loved the cowboy style. He participated in lots of rodeos
(bronc riding) and was friends with the original Marlboro Man. He had a
love for music and played the guitar. His first job was working on a
ranch. He had several ranch jobs, worked in the oil field, did roofing,
and was an over-the-road trucker.

Larry lived with his wife, Rhonda, for the last 25-30 years in Lusk.
They loved to take drives and take their grand- children to the park.
Larry enjoyed sitting around with his friends, having a drink, and
playing pool.

Larry is survived by his children, daughter-in-law Ingrid Stone
(Harvey), Daleene (Leroy) Steiner, Karla (Rick) Snider, LD ( Tenille)
Stone, Loretta (Bryanna) Stone, Zach Stone, Stepchildren Jenni Johnson,
Jordy (Kayla) Courtright, numerous grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Harve and Lois, his wife,
Rhonda, his siblings, Trinket, Michael, and Terri, his children, Tammy,
James, Harvey, and a grandson, William.

It was Larry’s wish to be cremated. A private service will be held at a later date.

Pier Funeral Home in Lusk is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
