Kathy Ferol Blaylock

Kathy Ferol Blaylock, 73, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 5, 2025. She passed away at home surrounded by family.

Kathy was born Monday, January 21, 11952 in Douglas, Wyoming to Roy Calvin and Ferol (Manning) Baker. She grew up on the family ranch north of Douglas and spent her days riding horses, harassing her brother, Eddy, and running wild with the neighbor kids. As she got older, she worked the ranch with her dad and brother and later with her husband and kids. She spent the majority of her life on the ranch.

She married David A. Blaylock Sr January 11, 1977, in Douglas and together they raised three kids, Wendy, Ranae, and David.

Along with their own kids she was mom to any kid who needed a place to stay and took in more kids than can be counted over the years. She never turned anyone away who needed her.

Dave and Kathy were blessed to be able to travel and travel they did. They went on a lot of trips alone, but mom loved it when the family was with them.

They were part-owners of the Wyoming Cavalry indoor football team and spent years following them across the country. Kathy became 'mom" to the majority of them also. Aside from her family, football was her favorite thing.

She worked several jobs throughout her life, but her favorite role was being Super Grandma. There was nothing she wouldn't do for her grandkids. She could always be found in the stands cheering the kids on. No matter the sport-she showed up. And in later years, when she was unable to attend the first words she often asked were "did they win".

Her family was always on her mind. She made sure they all knew how much she loved them right to the very end.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Baker, on June 29, 1989 and Ferol Baker on August 16, 1994 and her brothers, David Baker on April 9, 1943 and Edgar Baker on June 13, 2022.

She is survived by her husband and the love of her life, David Blaylock Sr.; her children, Wendy (Todd) Elliott, Ranae (Matthew) Layher and David (Misty) Blaylock; her nine grandchildren, Shawn (Jessica)Elliott, Shay (Chris) Elliott-Waddey, Brittany (Addison) Elliott-Trower, April Elliott, Aaron (Whisper) Layher, Trenton (Jaquelyn)Layher, Kourtney (Adam) Himrich, Rebecca (Brennan) Sargent, Dawson Blaylock; her fifteen great grandchildren, Quinn, Cora, Aiden, Jett, Hadlee, Cameron, Payzlie, Ryker, Everett, Bryce, Amelia, Micah, Adaleigh, Matthew, Karson; and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held at the Douglas Baptist Church, 135 Pearson Drive, Douglas, Wyoming at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 18, 2025 with Pastor Brad Jenkins officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to American Stroke Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284-0692 or American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, Maryland 21741 would be appreciated by the family.

The Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel of Douglas, Wyoming is in charge of the arrangements.
