Richard Dale Schroeder
Richard Dale Schroeder, age 82, of Manville, Wyoming, passed away on September 27, 2026.
Richard was born in Pontiac, Illinois, to Lewis and Emma Schroeder. Raised on a farm, he went on to work as a mechanic and tire man. Work brought him to Wyoming, where he met his wife, Carol, and they shared 41 years of marriage.
Richard’s playful spirit showed in his jokes, his enthusiasm for the Chicago Bears, and his affection for animals; he never met one he didn’t like.
Although his later years brought illness and pain, his family will remember the good years, the things he taught them, the help he gave, and the stories they will keep telling. He also gave back to his community by serving as mayor of Manville.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Dale; daughter, Bridget; stepdaughters, Kathy, Kelly, Michelle, Kenna, and Crystal; and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and his sons, Roger and Ronnie.
A service will be held at Pier Funeral Home in Lusk, Wyoming, on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.
Memorials can be made to the Niobrara Hospital Auxiliary.
