Services for Mrs. Nella Davis Held August 17

Graveside services for Mrs. Nella Mae Davis, 79, were held Monday afternoon, August 17 at the Harrison Cemetery.

Nella Mae McClarey was born November 13, 1890 at Clearfield, Iowa and died August 12, in San Jose, Calif. She was the daughter of James B. and Amelia McClarey.

Nell, as she was known to her many friends, came to Harrison as a young woman in 1910. The following year she became the bride of Arch C. Davis, who served as County Clerk of Sioux County for many years. Following the death of her husband in 1947 she moved to San Jose where she made her home until the time of her death. She was devoted member of the Willow Glen Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughters Thea Davis and Mrs. Bonne Jeane Gunderson; two grandchildren, John Davis Gunderson, Cherielyn Gunderson; and a son-in-law Norman Gunderson, all of San Jose. Also surviving are two brothers, James A. McClarey, of Harrison, Charles McClarey of Murray, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Iles of Los Angeles and Mrs. Bessie Conner of Mount Ayer, Iowa.

Mrs. Nell Davis Is Buried Here

Mrs. Nell Davis, 80, former Harrison resident, died August 12 at San Jose, Calif. Graveside services and burial were held at the Harrison Cemetery Monday afternoon with C. Robert Todd officiating.

Mrs. Davis's daughter, Miss Thea Davis and Mrs. Norman Gunderson were here for the services. J. A. McClarey of Harrison is a brother of Mrs. Davis.
