Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Duguid, 85-year-old Torrington woman, were held Saturday, June 24, at 2:00 p.m. from the Colyer Chapel in Torrington with Rev. Wm. Bornemann officiating. Burial was in Valley View cemetery at Torrington.
Mrs. Duguid died Wednesday, June 21, at the Torrington hospital following an illness of six weeks. She had been hospitalized four days.
Bertha Severin was born at Princeton, Neb. April 24, 1876, a daughter of John and Mary Siedschlog Severin. She married John Duguid at Lincoln, Neb. On March 2, 1904. The couple moved north of Ft. Laramie in 1911, and Mrs. Duguid moved to Torrington six years ago. Mr. Duguid passed away on Jan. 14, 1922. She was a member of the Lutheran church.
Survivors include three sons, Roy of Torrington, Otto of Orin, and Dale of Guernsey; three daughters, Mrs. Lily Broyles of Brighton, Colo., Mrs. Rose Kapus of Guernsey, and Mrs. Viola Haven of Ft. Collins, Colo.; a sister, Elizabeth Cramer of Lincoln, Neb.; three brothers, Arnold Severin of Torrington, Chris Severin of Lincoln, Neb., and Otto Severin of Winner, S. D.; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
