Virginia Fraser

Virginia Fraser, 72, of Sundance died Wednesday, Feb. 23, at the Crook County Memorial Hospital.

Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sundance, with a Rosary following at 7 p.m. Deacon Kim Carroll officiated.

Funeral services took place at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at the United Methodist Church, Sundance. Burial followed at the Lusk Cemetery in Lusk. Father Bruce Clapham officiated. Memorials have been established for the Crook County Memorial Hospital and Hospice.

Virginia was born in Lusk, on Dec. 16, 1932, to Andrew L. and Marie L. (Burger) Owens. She was raised in Lusk and graduated in 1951. She married James A. Fraser in Lusk on Aug. 30, 1953, and to this union three children were born: Leah, who died at birth, Julie, and Andy.

The family lived in Harrison, Neb., and Lusk before moving to Sundance in 1962. Virginia worked at Sundance Drug, for the City of Sundance, and Tri-County Electric before retiring in 1989.

Virginia's interests included camping, cooking, spending time with family and friends, watching her grandson's sporting events, and gardening.

Virginia is survived by her son, Andy and his wife Peggy Fraser, Moorcroft; her grandsons, Devin James, Moorcroft, and Nolan K., Laramie. She is also survived by Don Meyers, Sundance, her companion of ten years; one brother, John (Marie) Owens, Casper; one sister, Louise Umphenour, Tacoma, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her two daughters: Leah and Julie, one brother, Peter Owens, and one sister, Edna Blackmore.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel in Sundance.
