Clarence Gladson Dies Tuesday

Clarence O. Gladson, 50, died at Evanston, Wyo., Tuesday morning, March 12. The remains will be shipped here for burial and will arrive Friday, but funeral arrangements are indefinite as The Herald goes to press.

The deceased is survived here by a brother, James Gladson, and a son Leonard. His wife resides at Nampa, Idaho, and she will be here for the funeral service.

Last Rites Held Here For Clarence Gladson

Last rites for Clarence Gladson were conducted from the Peet Chapel on Sunday afternoon, March 17, at 2:30.

Rev. Ezra Duncan officiated at the service and the songs "We Are Going Down the Valley" and "Rock of Ages" were sung by Mrs. Duncan, Mrs. Emerson Bonner, Mrs. C. E. Marvin and Mrs. Joe Leimser, accompanied by Mrs. J. P. Watson.

The casket bearers were Floyd Rathbun, George Sylvester, Clifford Renz, Norman Lamb, Henry Roberts and Sharon Chamberlain. Burial was made in the Lusk cemetery.

Clarence Orville Gladson was born in Bossey, Iowa, on February 25, 1896. In his childhood his parents moved to Custer County, Nebraska, and later locating in Blaine County of the same State. In this locality Clarence grew to manhood and on October 1, 1915, he was married to Miss Pearl Tyson at Broken Bow, Neb. Two children were born to them, one passing away in infancy.

The family located in Lusk in 1935. Mrs. Gladson passed away at Evanston, Wyo., on March 12, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, whose home is now in Nampa, Idaho, and by one son, Leonard of Lusk, and three grandsons. Other relatives surviving are four brothers - James of Lusk, Elmer of DeSmet, Idaho, Jay of Mill Valley, Calif., and Fred of Kearney, Neb. Also three sisters - Mrs. Ona Fuller of Kearney, Neb., Mrs. Nellie Harvey of Overton, Neb., and Mrs. Alice Owens of Milburn, Neb. Mr. Gladson was a devoted husband and father and lived a truly Christian life. He was baptised and united with the Lusk Baptist Church in 1937.
