Frank R. Kaltenheuser

Frank R. Kaltenheuser, age 72, of Torrington, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004 in Torrington. A funeral service was held on Monday Aug. 30, at the Congregational Church in Lusk. Interment followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Frank Ray Kaltenheuser was born on Sept. 13, 1931, to George and Edith Boitnott Kaltenheuser in Cambridge, Iowa. After graduating from Roland High School in Roland, Iowa, Frank started farming with his parents. In 1951 Frank married Joy Ellingson of McCallsburg, Iowa.

They farmed and fed cattle in the Roland, Iowa area until 1973 when he and his family bought a ranch and feedlot and moved to Lusk, Wyo. Due to poor health, they sold the feedlot and farm and moved to Torrington in 2001, where he continued in the cattle business.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ed, and one son Craighton.

Frank is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joy; two sons, Greg and his partner Susan of Iowa City, Iowa; Brad and his wife, Nancy of Ames, Iowa; one daughter Charmayne Cochran of Chatfield, Minn.; three sisters Jean Klein of Greensboro, N.C.; Evelyn Benn of Ames Iowa and Eva Mae Tett of Ames, Iowa; one brother Fred Kaltenheuser of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Shawn Cochran and his wife, Shawn Marie; Brooks Kaltenheuser, Travis Kaltenheuser, and Kate Kaltenheuser; two step-grandchildren Adam Rasmussen and Leigh Schnoor.

The family would appreciate memorials to the Niobrara County Library Foundation in Lusk or the Congregational Church in Lusk.

Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
