Joseph Leimser Dies Saturday

Joseph Leimser, 74, retired rancher of the Buck Creek hills area, died of a heart attack at his home in Lusk early Saturday morning. He had been in ill health for several years.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Roger B. Koen at the Peet chapel at 2:30 p.m. Monday. Mrs. A. F. DeCastro and Mrs. Everson Bonner sang "Nearer My God to Thee" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Mrs. J. P. Watson was organist. Pallbearers were: Bernard Thon, C. E. Marvin, Paul Sullivan, James Krejci, Alex Gunn and Rosco Ross. Honorary bearers were: C. A. David, Archie Voorhees, Louis Krejci, Ray DeGering, Woodson Graham, and Lafe Culver. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. Leimser was born in Germany July 6, 1887. After his father's death, his mother, Maria Leimser brought her four small children to the United States in 1890. They settled in Columbus, Nebr. Mr. Leimser married Miss Hattie Paschal in 1915 in Wellington, Tex. They soon moved to Hastings, Nebr., where Mr. Leimser was employed as a mechanic. Here their four children were born.

The family came to Wyoming in 1928 homesteading in the Buck Creek Hills 38 miles north of Lusk. Mr. and Mrs. Leimser lived there until 1958 when they moved to Lusk.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne Hammer of Lusk; three sons, Dale, Joe Ben, and Dean, all of Lusk; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
