Concluding Rites for Edmund L. McColl, Sunday from Peet Chapel; Interment Made in Lusk Cemetery

Friends of the late E.L. "Mac" McColl gathered at two o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Peet Funeral Home to pay their final respects. Rev. Frank Bozart, pastor of the Open Bible Church officiated.

During the services, two selections, "Only a Touch of Your Hand," and "Nearer and Nearer" were sung by Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Mrs. Carl Peterson with Mrs. Judson P. Watson accompanying at the organ.

Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery with Chester Flick, Ralph McCormick, Matt Bast, Ike Burnham, Alan Clark and Ray Morris serving as casket bearers.

Edmund L. McColl, a son of Allan and Catherine McColl, was born December 20, 1876 in Montreal, Canada and passed away Thursday, August 9th at 1:30 a.m. in the Spencer Hospital, in Lusk, Wyoming. He had attained the age of 79 years, 7 months and 19 days. For many years, he resided in Van Tassell, Wyoming where he operated a creamery. Later he moved to Lusk, where he bought cream and operated a poultry business. He retired from this occupation about three years ago.

Mac McColl Dies Here August 9

Edmund L. (Mac) McColl, 79, died August 9 at the Spencer Hospital, following a stroke suffered 11 days previously. It was generally assumed here that the name of the deceased was spelled McCall, but relatives said the name should be spelled McColl.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Peet Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Frank Bozart, pastor of the Open Bible Church, officiated. Burial was made in the Lusk Cemetery. Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Mrs. Carl Peterson sang "Only a Touch of Your Hand" and "Nearer and Nearer". Mrs. J. P Watson was organist.

Casket bearers were Chester Flick, Ralph Mc Cormick, Matt Bast, Ike Burnham, Allan Clark and Ray Morris.

Edmund L. McColl was born in Montreal, Canada December 20, 1876. He made his home in Lusk for the past 35 years where he bought cream and operated a poultry business prior to retirement about three years ago.

Survivors include two nieces, Mrs. Wayne Wheeler and Mrs. Robert Bullard of Poplar Grove, Ill.

Note:   A great niece contacted our library on 2/2/2007 to let us know that she thinks Edmund McColl's birthday is incorrect, and should be 1874 or 1875. Remaining relatives are now located in Winnebago County, Illinois.
