Bertha G. "Pepper" Guibault-Mortimer

Bertha G. Pepper Guibault-Mortimer, 82, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2000, at Indian Valley District Hospital in Greenville.

She was born Feb. 2, 1918, in Muscatine, Iowa and was a resident of the Lake Almanor area for the past 17 years, after moving here from Running Springs where she had resided for nine years.

Bertha had worked as a waitress for over 50 years, lastly at the Hotel Del Coronado in Southern California.

A devout member of Christ the King Catholic Church and Alter Society, she was an avid bingo player who enjoyed all types of crafts, cooking and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth in 1981.

Bertha is survived by her brother, Eugene A. Guibault of San Juan Capistrano; and sisters, Patricia A Guibault and Phoebe R. Deitchler, both of Lake Almanor; cousins, Anna Mae Walson of Post Falls, Idaho; Bernard and Kaas Tadewald of Casper, and Herbert and Rosemary Tadewald of VanTassell, Wyoming.

Recitation of the Rosary took place Wednesday, July 5, at 7 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Chester.

A Memorial Mass was celebrated Thursday, July 6, at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church in Chester with inurnment to follow on the Chester District Cemetery. The family requests any donations in her memory be made to either Indian Valley District Hospital or Seneca District Hospital's Long Term Care Facilities. c/o Fehrman Mortuary and Crematory, P.O.
