Mrs. Pattie Pease Passes Away at Casper Monday

Within two and one-half months after the death of her husband, A. W. Pease, Mrs. Pattie Lou Pease, following a stroke of paralysis passed away at Memorial hospital, Casper, Wyo., at 6 o'clock Monday morning, January 19, at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 4 days.

Mrs. Pease was a product of Kentucky, having been born at Winchester, that state, October 15, 1861. It was there that she grew to womanhood and in 1886 united in marriage with Ibzan Tribble. To this union five children were born, two of whom died in infancy.

The family moved to Smithwick, S. Dak., in 1908, where they took up government homestead land and made their home. Mr. Tribble passed away on September 25, 1913 at Hot Springs, S. Dak., and about three years later, in 1916, Mrs. Tribble and children removed to Wyoming, locating at Manville.

In the fall of 1918, Mrs. Tribble was married to A. W. Pease, and they for the most time since that year, have lived on a ranch south of Lusk. Here they both made a large number of friends and became a part of the makers of this community.

It was shortly prior to the death of her husband that Mrs. Pease suffered a slight stroke of paralysis. At that time, or as soon thereafter as she was able to be moved, she was taken to Midwest to visit at the home of her son, S. B. Tribble, and to regain her health and strength. She was called home by the death of Mr. Pease, and this shock is believed to have hastened her demise.

Mrs. Pease is survived by her son, S. B. Tribble of Midwest, Wyo.; and two daughters, Mrs. C. S. Brown, of Evansville, Wyo., and Mrs. J. J. Brewer of Orick, Calif., all of whom were at the bedside when the end came.

Funeral services were held from the First Baptist church in this city at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, January 20th, Rev. B. F. Farrar, pastor, officiating. The remains were then conveyed to Manville and short services held at the grave there. The body was laid to rest beside that of her husband. Funeral arrangements were under direction of George Earl Peet of Peet Mortuary.

The pall bearers were L. R. Van Tassell, Ernest Milburn, Archie Sparks, E. O. Kint, Lee Woods and Roy McLain.

Mrs. Pattie Pease

Pattie Lou Owens was born in Winchester, Kentucky, October 15th, 1861. After a period of ill health that began about the 15th of last September, she succumbed to a stroke of paralysis, at Casper, Wyoming, January 19th, 1931. Her earthly pilgrimage was 69 years, 3 months and 18 days.

In 1886 she was married to Ibzan Tribble at Winchester, Kentucky, and to this union five children were born, two of who sojourned on earth less than a year. The other three survive their mother and were present at her bedside when she fell asleep in her Lord. They are one son, S. B. Tribble of Midwest, Wyoming; and two daughters, Mrs. C. S. Brown of Evansville, Wyoming and Mrs. J. J. Brewer of Orick, California.

In 1908 the family came from Kentucky to Smithwick, South Dakota, where they resided until 1913, some time after the death of Mr. Tribble. When Mrs. Tribble came to Niobrara County, she was united in marriage with Mr. A. W. Pease in 1918 and they resided on their farm, nine miles southwest of Lusk, where she found many friends. Experiencing failing health, she left the farm last October and went to live with her son, S. B. Tribble and family of Midwest, Wyoming. She was called home October 4th by the death of her husband, A. W. Pease, whose funeral she was scarcely able to attend. After the funeral she returned with her son to his home in Midwest.

Mrs. Pease was well and favorably known in this vicinity and a number of times their home was visited by the Baptist minister and his family. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Kansas City, Mo., of which church she had been a faithful member for a number of years. She was ever a faithful, humble but devout follower of her Lord and Master.
