Gus F. Perlenfein

Former Niobrara County resident Gus F. Perlenfein died last Friday morning at Weld County General Hospital in Greeley, Colo. He was 83.

A native of Sutton, Neb.; Mr. Perlenfein homesteaded near Lusk and later worked for Continental Oil Co. at Lance Creek until his retirement around 1957.

He was married to Helen M. Freeman in Harrison in 1935.

After is retirement, the couple moved to Ft. Morgan, Colo., and later to Nunn, Colo. Following the death of his wife in March 1977, Mr. Perlenfein moved to Greeley and had been living at a nursing home for the last two years

Mr. Perlenfein is survived by two daughters, Mabel Burns of LaSalle, Colo., and Nina Tucker of Molalla, Ore.; a son Kenneth Perlenfein of Cheyenne; two sisters, Freida Lillyquist of Remer, Minn., and Alma Anderson of Guelph, N..D.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters and a grandson.

A service was held Monday at Macy Allnut Mortuary in Greeley, with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Greeley.
