Henry H. Peterson

Concluding services for the late Henry Peterson, at two o'clock Monday afternoon, August 30th, from the Chapel of the Peet Funeral Home. Rev. Otha Holcomb, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated at the rites, which were enriched with the singing of "In the Garden," and "The Old Rugged Cross," by Mrs. Emerson Bonner, Mrs. Carl Peterson, Rex Yocum and Donley Unruh. Mrs. J. P. Watson was the organist.

Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery with Vern Torrance, Ed Marks, Edwin Grapes, Walter Schnorenberg, Earl Seegrist and Ed Redifer acting as pallbearers. Honorary bearers were Len Seegrist, Otto York, Bert Peterson, C. M. Roby, Anton Fisher and Ed Herrin.

The deceased had been ill for several years suffering from a chronic heart condition. At the time of his demise, he had been hospitalized in the Niobrara Memorial Hospital for a number of weeks. He had attained the age of 73 years, three months and 20 days.

Henry H. Peterson, the son of Hans H. and Marie Peterson, was born at Clinton, Iowa, May 8, 1881. Mr. Peterson passed away August 28, 1954, at 8:00 o'clock in the morning after an illness since in October 1952.

Mr. Peterson, when still a child moved with his parents to Neligh, Nebraska. He was united in marriage to Arnnietta Heller at Neligh, Nebr. In the year 1907, to this union were born three children; Henrietta Isabella born 1911 at Neligh, who died at the age of two and one-half years; Vernon Henry, born at Harrison, Nebr., and now living in Lusk, Wyo. and Dorothy Irene, born in 1924 and died at birth at Harrison, Nebr.

The deceased leaves as survivors, besides his wife and son, two brothers, Leo Peterson, Salt Lake City, Utah; Paul Peterson, Neligh, Nebr. Two sisters are living; Mary Brown, Neligh, Nebr., and Hannah Heller, Rushville, Nebr. Four other sisters preceded him in death. He also leaves one grandchild, Dean Peterson of Lusk, Wyoming.

In the year 1912 Mr. Peterson moved to Van Tassell, Wyoming, where he engaged in farming and ranching until his retirement two years ago.

Besides his immediate family, he leaves a great host of relatives and friends to cherish his memory as a true friend, husband and father.

His remains were laid to rest in the Lusk cemetery in services conducted Monday August 30, 1954.

Henry Peterson Dies Here Saturday

Funeral services wee held at the Peet Mortuary at 2 p.m. Monday for the late Henry H. Peterson who died here August 28 after a long illness.

Rev. Otha B. Holcomb officiated. Two hymns, "In the Garden," and "The Old Rugged Cross", were sung by Don Unruh, Rex Yocum, Mrs. Maude Bonner, and Mrs. Fern Peterson, with Mrs. J. P. Watson at the organ.

Honorary pallbearers were: Anton Fisher, Len Seegrist, Bert Peterson, C. M. Roby, Ed Herrin. Active pallbearers were Verne Torrance, Ed Grapes, Ed Marks, Walt Schnorenberg, Ed Redifer, and Earl Seegrist.

Bural was in the Lsuk cemetery with the Peet Mortuary in charge.

Henry H. Peterson, the son of Hans H. and Marie Peterson, was born at Clinton, Ia., May 8, 1881. When still a child, he moved to Neligh, Neb. with his parents. He married Arnnietta Heller at Neligh in 1907. They had three children: a son, Vernon Henry, who was born in Harrison and now resides in Lusk; a daughter, Henrietta Isabella, who died at the age of two and a half years; and a daughter, Dorothy Irene, who died at birth.

In 1912 Mr. Peterson moved to Van Tassell. He spent his entire life as a farmer and rancher until retirement two years ago.

Survivors include his wife and son, Vernon; two brothers, Leo Peterson, Salt Lake City, and Paul Peterson, Neligh, Neb.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Brown, Neligh, and Mrs. Hannah Heller, Ruhville, Neb. Four other sisters previously died. He also leaves one grandchild, Dean Peterson, of Lusk.
