Tillie Peterson

Tillie Peterson, resident of Lusk since 1953, died at the nursing home here Sunday. Funeral service was held at Peet Mortuary Chapel Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Frank Bozart officiating.

Senja Matilda "Tillie" Peterson was born March 27, 1899, at Scofield, Utah. After she was born the family moved to Finland for several years, later returning to the States and a home in Michigan. Her father was employed by Union Pacific Railroad and the family lived in various western states.

She and Bert Peterson were married in Rock Springs on April 17, 1916. They were the parents of one son Carl. The family lived in Astoria, Ore.; Tona, Wash., and other western states before settling in Lusk.

Music at the funeral was provided by a Merle Womah recording and included songs, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond The Sunset."

Mr. Peterson preceded her death.

Interment was in the Lusk Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gordon Kaan, Archie Lauer, H. M. Klindt, Denis Peterson, Dennis Fogel, and Charles Lund.

Survivors include her son Carl of Lusk, grandchildren Karla Smith, Hillsboro, Ore, Judi Fogel, Lusk, Jim Peterson, Mossleigh, Alberta, Canada, and Denis Peterson of Lusk; 7 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a sister Selma Stevens of Rock Springs.

Memorials have been established to Niobrara Memorial Hospital.
