Mrs. Siebken Dies Here Friday

Mrs. George Siebken, 76, a resident of the Van Tassell area for 53 years, died early Friday morning at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held from the Peet Chapel Monday afternoon. Burial was in the Van Tassell cemetery.

Philip King, pastor of the Lusk Church of Christ, officiated the services. Mrs. Lyle Eddy and Mrs. Emerson Bonner, accompanied by Mr. A. F. DeCastro sang "Just a Closer Walk With Thee," "Old Rugged Cross," and "Beautiful Isle."

Casket bearers were Ed Baldwin, Harry Baldwin, Herb Tadewald, Lawrence Adams, Bill Henritze and Walt Schnorenberg, Sr.

Mrs. Siebken was born November 3, 1889 at Albion, Nebr., the daughter of Mary and Charles Bump. She attended public school in Albion and taught school in Boone County until her marriage to George Siebken on May 25, 1910. They lived west of Albion until 1913 before moving to a homestead in the Van Tassell community. She was a member of the Methodist church in Petersburg, Nebraska.

Mrs. Siebken is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Robertson of Artesia, Calif., and Katherine Siebken of the family home and two sons, Kenneth at home and Clarence of Douglas. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her mother, one daughter and one brother died previously.
