Louise M. Tarantola

Graveside services for Louise M. Tarantola, 92, of Cheyenne, were held Nov. 26, 2003, at Memorial Gardens in Cheyenne, with Father Tim Solon officiating. Louise Tarantola died Nov. 23, 2003, at United Medical Center West in Cheyenne.

She was born April 26, 1911, in Neligh, Neb., to Z. B. and Emma (Putney) Crinklaw. At the age of four she moved with her family to Hat Creek, where her parents ranched. She attended a county school, then later boarded in Lusk, where she attended high School. She tied with a classmate for salutatorian of her graduating class.

She worked at Yellowstone Lake Lodge for three summers after graduation, and was part of a trio who sang and performed skits for the guests. She graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, with a BA in music. She taught school in Dakota City, Colo., Manville, Wyo., Lusk, Wyo., and Wray, Colo.

She married Peter Tarantola on Aug. 22, 1942, in Kimball, Neb.

For 32 years, she worked in accounting and finance and as a department supervisor at F. E. Warren Air Force Base.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Ida Blanche Condra, and two brothers, Warren Crinklaw and Gordon Crinklaw.

She is survived by her husband Peter of Cheyenne; and two sisters, Ruth Stenger of San Antonio, Texas, and Marjorie Osterlee of Phoenix, Ariz.
