Margaret Tharp Dies; Funeral In Fort Collins

Mrs. Margaret U. Tharp, formerly of Denver, and sister of Mrs. Helen Veirs, Lusk, died at North Evantide Nursing Home, Fort Collins, Colo., Sept. 28.

Although an autopsy performed was inconclusive, it is believed she suffered a heart attack and dropped a lighted cigarette which set fire to her clothing. She died a short time later.

Mrs. Tharp was born in Denver, the older daughter of August F. and Katherine Uebelhoer. She resided in that city most of her life. In 1923 she was married to Harry L. Tharp, who died in Cheyenne in August 1969.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. John (Phyllis) Broderick of Fort Collins, Mrs. Veirs, and two grandchildren.

Father William Bacon of St. Paul's Episcopal Church conducted the funeral service last Thursday afternoon at the Warren Funeral Home. The body was cremated.

Mrs. Veirs, Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Fernau, Lusk, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hahn of Hardin, Mont., were in Fort Collins for the service.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Tharp were well known in Lusk, where they were frequent visitors and for many years were enthusiastic participants in the Country Club golf tournaments.
