Minnie Titus Dies Here Thurs.

Mrs. Minnie Titus, 77, a resident of Lusk for 14 years, died unexpectedly of a heart attach in Scottsbluff early Thursday morning. She had been in failing health for several years.

Funeral services were held at the Peet Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. James Davis in charge and Mrs. J. P. Watson as organist. Interment was in the Maplewood Cemetery in Rantoul, Ill. Monday afternoon.

Mrs. Titus was born November 16, 1884 in Chicago, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Frederick Kuhne. Becoming an orphan at an early age, she made her home with her cousins, Mr. and Mrs. William C. F. Kuhne of Rantoul. She also became a member of the Methodist Church in Rantoul. In 1926 she married A. R. Titus, who preceded her in death. She made frequent visits to Wyoming to visit her sister, Mrs. James Spencer and Mr. Spencer and in 1948 came to Lusk to make her home. Serving faithfully and unobtrusively in whatever way she could, Mrs. Titus endeared herself to many in this community. She had a hobby of collecting anecdotes which she sent to help cheer shut-ins. At the time of her death she was an active member of the Lusk Business and Professional Women, the Fancy Farmers Garden Club and the Congregational Church Circle.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Blanche Spencer of Lusk, Mrs. Emma Marion of Detroit, Mich. and Mrs. Clara Clifton of Rantoul, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Clifton and Marvin Messinger of Homewood, Ill., a nephew, came to Lusk for the services.

Many donations were given to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mrs. Titus.

Mrs. Spencer's tribute to her sister was this: "everyone who knew her would say, 'To Know her was to love her'."
