Ann Vickory Dies Following Long Illness

Funeral service was held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Peet Chapel for Mrs. Anna Vickory who died December 26 at Michael Manor Nursing Home in Douglas.

The Rev. Robert Boutwell conducted the service with Mrs. A. F. DeCastro, organist, accompanying Mark Lohr as he sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond The Sunset."

Casket bearers were Charles Vaughan, A. F. DeCastro, Bob Templeton, Jim Potter, Venus Kilmer and Roscoe Kilmer. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Anna Cecilia Brown was born Sept. 21, 1893, at Scotland, S.D., the daughter of John and Sarah Hebbert Brown. She moved to Harrison, Neb., as a small child and attended school at Orchard.

She married Harry Vickory on August 28, 1913. They lived in various places in Nebraska before moving to Lusk in 1935. She was employed at the Penny Store in Lusk for many years. The last four years she has been a resident of the nursing home in Douglas.

She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge for 54 years.

Survivors include a son Don of Englewood, Colo.; a daughter Jean Solso of South San Francisco, Calif.; and two great-grandchildren.

Her parents, husband, 10 brothers and sisters and one grandson died previously.
