George Jacox, 74, Dies at Thermopolis

George Jacox, 74, died at a hospital in Thermopolis, May 9 after having been a patient at the institution for the past ten days. He had been in failing health for a number of years and upon becoming worse went to Thermopolis in the hopes of securing relief.

Mr. Jacox was born in Pennsylvania, April 12, 1876 and in 1914 was married to Cyrene McKissick at Bassett, Neb. While living in Nebraska he was a cattle buyer and upon coming to Wyoming a number of years he has followed ranch work until ill health caused him to retire.

He is survived by his widow, one brother in Colorado and a sister in Nebraska.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Peet Chapel on Thursday afternoon, May 11 at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. O.F. Shroyer, pastor of the Church of God, officiating.

Last Rites Held For George Jacox

Last rites for George Jacox were conducted from the Peet Chapel on Thursday afternoon, May 11, at 2:00 o'clock.

Rev. 0. F. Shroyer, pastor of the Church of God, officiated at the services. Three songs, "Abide With Me," "Nearer My God to Thee," and "It Is Well With My Soul," were sung by a quartet composed of Dave Wood, Al Davenport, Billy Hughes and Fred Klier, accompanied by Mrs. J.P. Watson.

Conducting the remains to the last resting place in the Lusk Cemetery were Raime Fosher, Rawleigh Reed, Harold Fosher, Fred Dean, Andrew McMaster and Harry Burnham.

George Jacox was born at Brookville, Pa., April 12, 1876, but was brought to Nebraska by his parents when a small child and lived there most of his life. In 1914 he was married to Cyrene McKissick at Bassett, Neb.

They moved to Wyoming a number a years ago and of recent years have made their home in Lusk.

Mr. Jacox has been in ill health for some time and had gone to Thermopolis for medical treatment and died there on Tuesday, May 9.

Survivors include his widow and a brother in Colorado and a sister in Nebraska and a cousin, L.C. Jacox of Lusk.
