Archie Dalton Dies Suddenly In Lusk Thursday

Archie Dalton, 53, died suddenly at his home in south Lusk last Thursday of a heart attack. Funeral services were held at the Peet Mortuary Monday with Rev. Otha B. Holcomb officiating.

A mixed quartet composed of Mrs. Carl Peterson, Mrs. Otha Holcomb, James Holcomb and Jesse Rice sang "The Old Rugged Cross", "Jesus Lover of My Soul" and "What a Friend We Have In Jesus." Organist was Mrs. A. F. DeCastro.

Pallbearers were Perry Alley of Douglas, Lafe Culver Sr., R. C. Bafford, A. C. Tibbits, Bernard Kaper, Johnnie Thon, C. E. Hollon and C. E. Marvin.

Archie Dalton, son of Francis E. and Laura Houston Dalton was born at Norden, Nebr., December 22, 1905. He received his education in the Norden and Springview schools, living in that area until 1932 when he came to Douglas. Later he moved to Crawford for three years, coming to Lusk in 1947. He was a farmer and rancher until coming to Lusk where he became a motel operator for a time.

He married Ona Bean, May 27, 1937 and they were the parents of two children, Chester A., a senior at Ottawa University, Ottawa, Kan., and daughter of Mary Margaret who is still at home.

Mr. Dalton was the youngest of six children. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Survivors include his wife, his son and daughter; a sister Mrs. Violet Brose of Burbank, Calif.; three brothers Francis E. of Sheridan, Roy Edmund of Fort Meade, S. Dak., and Harley A. of Monmouth, Ore.

Mr. Dalton became a member of the Methodist Church, when he was a young man.

Out-of-town relatives and friends here for the funeral were: Mrs. Violet Brose and son Ralph of Burbank, Calif., Harley A. Dalton of Monmouth: Mrs. Faye Goedecker of Verdigre, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs, Clifford Guinn and Clayton Guinn of Laurel, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Bean and Mr. and Mrs. John I. Bean of Cheyenne, Mr. and Mrs. Bradford Bean of Burns; Joe Bean of Kalispell, Mont.; Mr. and Mrs. Perry Alley, Mr. and Mrs. Forest West, Mrs. Verba Hildebrand, Mrs. Gordon Fitzhugh and Mrs. Chester Rice all of Douglas.
