Emerson Bonner dies at his home here last Wed.

Emerson Bonner, long-time Lusk businessman, died at his home here Wednesday, Nov. 22. The Bonners had retired to Laramie in 1966, but returned to Lusk in 1973.

Funeral service was held Nov. 25 in the Peet Mortuary Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ronald Marshall officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Edna DeCastro, organist, and soloist Barbara Bonner sang "In The Garden" and "God Will Take Care of You."

Pallbearers were Ray Jenkins, Hobart Cockreham, Steve Bonner, Jerry Jassman, David Jassman and Mike Bonner. Honorary bearers were C.E. Marvin, Verle Ellis, Venus Kilmer, Everett DeGroot, Johnnie Thon and Gene Leahy.

Interment was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Axel Emerson Bonner was born Feb. 27, 1901at Imperial, Nebr., the son of Emerson and Amelia Peterson Bonner, and received his education in Imperial. He married Maude Kaufman at Grant, Nebr., and they moved to Holyoke, Colo. in 1929. They came to Lusk in 1937 and stayed until they moved to Laramie.

He was a member of the Baptist Church and enjoyed painting, baseball and horseback riding.

He is survived by his widow Maude; two sons, Joe of Laramie, and Ralph of Auburn, Wyo.; a sister, June McIntosh of Loveland, Colo.; brothers L.T. "Cye" of Lusk, and Harry of Newcastle; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
