Sister of Mrs. Hans Gautschi Dies

Mrs. Adeline L. Szekula, slster of Mrs. Hans Gautschi of Lusk, died at her home in Casper, on Thursday March 3, after a lengthy illness.

Before her marriage Mrs. Szekula spent several months in Lusk visiting at the Gautschi home, and afterward lived in Manville until moving to Casper some 30 years ago.

She has been in ill health for several years and Mrs. Gautschi has spent considerable time in Casper helping to care for her sister.

Funeral services were conducted from the Bustard Funeral Home on Saturday, March 5, at 2:30, and among those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Hans Gautschi and Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Gautschi of Lusk, and Mr. and Mrs. Marion Norris of Lance Creek.

Adeline L. Gager was born on December 27, 1890, at Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Gager. In 1917 she was married to Ben Szekula, and in 1918 they came to Wyoming to make their home and located in Manville, later moving to Casper, where they have since resided.

Mr. and Mrs. Szekula are the parents of two daughters, Mrs. Marion Norris of Lance Creek and Mrs. John Bangs of Rawlins. Other survivors beside her husband are her two sisters, Mrs. Hans Gautschi of Lusk and Mrs. H. F. Proudfoot of Chicago, and two brothers, Homer Gager of Rock Falls, Ill., and Frank Gager of California, and four grandchildren.

An ending to long years of patient suffering came quietly to Mrs. Addie Szekula when death claimed her life as she slept Thursday evening, March 3rd, in her home at Casper. Mrs. Szekula had long been a sufferer of a diabetic condition which was given as the cause of death.

Final services for the deceased were conducted from the Bustard mortuary at Casper, Saturday afternoon, March 5th. The decedent will be well remembered in this community having resided for a long number of years in Manville where her husband, Hans Szekula was postmaster.

She is a sister of Mrs. Hans Gautschi, of this city, who has spent the past several weeks with her. Surviving her other than her husband, Ben Szekula, and Mrs. Gautschi, are a sister, Mrs. Harry Proudfoot of Chicago, Ill.; and two brothers, Homer Gager of Rock Fall, Ill.; an Frank Gager of California.
