Geo. Bonsell Dies In Arkansas Mon.

George Bonsell died Monday night at Ft. Smith, Ark. according to information received here Tuesday from Harold (Slim) Bonsell, a brother living here. George had been in a hospital there.

Later word received Wednesday was that the body was being brought to Lusk, but no definite funeral arrangements had been made.

Services Held for George E. Bonsell

Funeral services for George Emmett Bonsell were were held at Lusk Friday from the Peet Mortuary, with the Rev. Lawrence Juell officiating, and burial was in the Lusk Cemetery. Mr. Bonsell had died October 16 at a hospital in Fort Smith, Ark.

Casketbearers at the service were five brothers, Harold, Will, Russell, Raymond and Dee, and a brother-in-law, Ray Larson. Music for the service was provided by Mrs. Emerson Bonner and Mrs. A.F. DeCastro, accompanied by mrs. J.P. Watson. Two songs, "We're Going Down the Valley," and "Jesus, Lover of My Soul," were sung.

Mr. Bonsell had suffered with asthma for some time and that with a heart ailment were given as the cause of his death. He had been visiting recently with a brother, Harold "Slim" Bonsell of Mena, Ark. He became ill about two weeks before his death and was first confined to a hospital in Mena. When his condition became critical he was moved to Ft. Smith.

He was born on September 5, 1906, at the OW ranch, 14 miles north of Lusk, which was owned and operated by his late parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Bonsell, pioneers of the county.

Surviving are five brothers and one sister: Dee V. Bonsell, Redmond, Ore.; Will H. and Raymond of Lusk; Russell, Cooper, S.D.; Harold J. "Slim," Mena, Ark.; and Mrs. Ray Larson (Lydia), Gering, Neb. Mrs. Dee Bonsell, Mr. Larson, and Mrs. Lillian Bonsell, an aunt, of Mountain View, Mo., were also here for the service.

Note: The death date used here is October 17, 1949. This date matches the cemetery record, the Social Security records, and was a Monday.
