John Yost, Long Resident Here, Dies

John Yost, nearly 86 years of age and a resident of Niobrara county for more than half a century, died at 5:00 a.m. this Wednesday, April 5, at the Manring Convalescent Home.

Born in Ohio in 1864 Mr. Yost came to Wyoming as a young man in 1898 and has been a familiar figure around Lusk and vicinity these 52 years.

For many years he was foreman for the Jacob Mill sheep outfit and was often seen driving a four or six horse team into town for supplies.

As far as is known Mr. Yost never married but it is known that he had a brother who was living a year ago, in Ohio, and Mortician G. Earl Peet has been trying to locate him, but as The Herald goes to press he has still been unable to do so.

While in Thermopolis nearly a year ago Mr. Yost fell down some steps and broke a hip but after spending several months in a hospital he recovered so that he had been walking around almost as well as ever.

Unless the brother is contacted and changes the plans funeral services will be held from the Peet Chapel on Friday afternoon.
