Wesley Neal, 72, Dies April 10

Wesley Neal, 72, homesteader near Lusk in 1917, and a resident here until 1948, died on April 10, at the Basin Tuberculosis Sanitarium. The remains were shipped to Meridian, Idaho, for interment.

Mr. Neal was born on September 15, 1877, at Moberly, Mo., where he spent his childhood. Later he was employed for several years by Nels Morris Packing Co. at St. Louis. When his health failed his physician advised him to go to Texas and rest.

In 1917 he came to Lusk, where he filed on a homestead and worked in the oil fields. June 10, 1923, he was married to Nora E. Davis in Chadron, Neb., and lived near Lusk until 1948.

He was suddenly taken ill and spent several months in the Memorial Hospital in Casper, and later he and Mrs. Neal went to the Mayo Clinic and both were found to have active tuberculosis, and were advised to enter the sanitarium at Basin.

Survivors besides his wife are three step-sons: Harley Davis, Meridian, Idaho; Homer Davis, Arkansas City, Kan.; Horace Davis, Lance Creek; one brother M.H. Neal, Marshall, Mo.; and three sisters, Sall Neal, Moberly, Mo.; Nannie Betty Doyle, Moberly, Mo.; Zula Guthrie, Little Rock, Ark.

Mr. Neal ws a member of the Baptist Church.
