Mrs. Grace Wilson Dies in Edgemont

Mrs. Grace M. Wilson, 76, of Edgemont died at her home March 22. Funeral services were held March 25 at the Congregational United Church of Christ with the Reverend Elmer E. Erickson officiating. Burial was in Edgemont.

Mrs. Marvin Cummings, Ed Roper, Mrs. Paul Russell and Frank Carns sang "In the Garden and "Beyond the Sunset." Active pallbearers were Russ Christensen, Jim Reed, Franklin Manke, Earl Darrow, Lawrence Rhoades and Ted Jones. Honorary pallbearers were Chris Christensen, Fred Campbell, Bill Spencer, Ray DeGering, Albert DeGering, Roy Sutherland and Dick Pfister.

Mrs. Wilson was born November 7, 1882 in Johnstown, NY., the daughter of George A. and Lydia Glen. As a small child she moved with her parents to western Nebraska near Hay Springs, later moving to Chadron.

She was married to Thomas J. Wilson February 3, 1901. They had one daughter, Dorothy. In 1901 the family moved to Wyoming, living on a homestead on Mule Creek until 1910 when they returned to Chadron before establishing their ranch on Alkali Creek where they lived for 40 years.

She has made her home in Edgemont for the last six years but still maintained the ranch. Mr. Wilson died in 1955. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Chadron for over 50 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Morris, Chadron; two granddaughters, Mrs. Eleanor Whitsel, Mobridge, S.D., and Mrs. Lucille Redfern, Chadron; one great granddaughter, Janet Mae Redfern of Chadron. Two brothers, Clarentce Glenn of Des Moines, Ia., and Fred Glenn of Baton Rouge, La., also survive.
