Former Lusk Resident Dies in California

Mrs. Rudolph H. Marcks died recently in her home in Pomona, California. Mr. and Mrs. Marcks left Lusk about six years ago to be near their daughter, Mrs. J. E. Hawthorne, also formerly of Lusk.

Ray Marks of Lance Creek is a son of the deceased. The following is taken from a Pomona paper:

Mrs. Anna E. Marcks
Mrs. Anna Emilia Marcks, wife of Rudolph H. Marcks, passed away at the family home, 324 N. Palomares street, Saturday afternoon at 2:25 o'clock after several years of failing health.

Mrs. Marcks was born in Germany, Sept. 24, 1855. She has lived in the United States 47 years, and in Pomona for the past six years, coming here from Lusk, Wyoming. She is survived by her husband; one son, Ray Marcks, Lusk, Wyo; and three daughters, Mrs. J. E. Hawthorne and Mrs. Will M. Grove, both of Pomona, and Mrs. J. F. McCabe, Monrovia. There are also eight grandchildren, and two sisters and a brother in Germany. She was a member of the Presbyterian church Woodman circle and Rebeckah lodge in the East.

Funeral services for Mrs. Marcks will be held at the Todd & Reeves chapel Tuesday at 2 p. m. Dr. Luther Freeman, pastor of the Presbyterian Church. The Community Club trio will sing. Burial will be made in Pomona cemetery.
