Funeral Held for Ross Landmichel

Ross Landmichel, 72, resident of Lusk for the past 24 years, died at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital at 11:50 p.m. June 24.

Funeral services were held at the Peet Mortuary Friday afternoon at 2:00 with the Rev. Jacob Nein, pastor of the Congregational Church, officiating. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery. Casket bearers were Walter Schnorenberg, Jake Wahl, Leonard Seegrist, Otis Bump, Jack Gartrell and C. E. Marvin. Music was provided by Mrs. J. P. Watson, organist, and Mrs. A. F. DeCastro and Miss Justine Watson, singing.

Mr. Landmichel was born Aug. 25, 1879 in Vienna, Austria. He came to America with his family when he was about five years old. Most of his childhood was spent in Wisconsin.

He was married to Miss Rose Hodges. Eight children were born, two of whom died in infancy. While the children were yet small the family resided on a farm in Nebraska. Later he gave up farming and worked steadily at civil engineering for several years. He came to Lusk about 24 years ago and has lived here since.

Surviving are three sons, George and Harold of Omaha, and Edward of Seattle, Wash., and three daughters, Alice Goldsberry of Omaha, Loretta Olson of Star, Kan., and Lucille Kenney of Chicago. There are nine grandchildren.

RITES FOR LATE ROSS LANDMICHEL ARE HELD HERE FRIDAY, JUNE 27

Concluding rites were held at two o'clock last Friday afternoon from the chapel of the Peet mortuary for the late Ross Landmichel, who passed away at the Niobrara Memorial hospital on the night of Tuesday, June 24th.

Rev. Jacob Nein, pastor of the Congregational-Christian church, officiated at the services. Several selections were sung by Mrs. A. B. DeCastro and Miss Justine Watson, with Mrs. J.P. Watson presiding at the organ.

Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery with C. E. Marvin, Leonard Seegrist, Jake Wahl, Jack Gartrell, Otis Bump and Walter Schnorenberg bearing the remains to their final resting place.

About twenty-four years ago Mr. Landmichel moved to Lusk and has since made his home here. His demise came at the Niobrara Memorial hospital Tuesday night, June 24th, at 11:50 o'clock.

Survivors include three sons, George and Harold of Omaha, Nebr., Edward of Seattle, Wash, and three daughters, Alice Goldsberry, of Omaha; Lorretta Olson of Star, Kansas, and Lucille Keeney of Chicago, and their families including nine grandchildren. Mr. Landmichel was a kind and unassuming man who has made many friends in Lusk, who extend their sympathy to the members of his family.

Here to attend last services were a son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Landmichel and two children of Omaha, Nebr.

Last Services For Foss Landmichel To Be Held Friday

Ross Landmichel passed away Tuesday evening of this week, at the Niobrara Memorial hospital, following an illness of several years. His demise was caused by a heart ailment and other complications.

The deceased was born August 25, 1879 in Vienna, Austria and passed away on June 24, 1952 at the age of 72 years, nine months and 30 days. His occupation in life was that of a mechanic, and he has also made a number of power plant installations. He had made his home in Lusk for many years, and during the past year of his illness, he had been cared for by his close neighbors and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Fleming. Survivors include three sons and a daughter, and a number of grandchildren.

Last rites will be conducted at two o'clock Friday afternoon, June 27th, from the chapel of the Peet Mortuary, with Rev. Jacob Nein, pastor of the Congregational church officiating. A son, George Landmichel and wife and two children of Omaha, Nebr., will be here to attend last services. Interment will be made in the Lusk cemetery.
