S.E. Jordan, Well-Known Rancher of Hat Creek Community, Dies After Stroke

S.E. Jordan, 61, rancher of the Hat Creek community, died Friday mroning at the Lusk Hospital, following a stroke of apoplexy. This was the second stroke which Mr. Jordan suffered, the first being several weeks ago, after which he was brought to the hospital, and the fatal one shortly before his death.

Funeral services were held from the First Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon, with the local pastor, Rev. B. F. Farrar, officiating. Interment was made in the Lusk Cemetery, the pallbearers being: Jake Wahl, Jerry Shrove, "Dad" Klemke, Fred Root, Fred Hanson and Joe Kuhn.

Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Peet Mortuary.

OBITUARY
Samuel Edward Jordan was born at Gretna, Sarpy county, Nebraska, June 1, 1872. He resided in that locality until he had reached manhood. In November, 1907, he was united in marriage to Mabel Mathilda Clifton, at Omaha, Neb.

To this union four sons were born: Glen, Ralph, Russell and Leonard, all of whom reside at the home east of Hat Creek. Two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Jesperson and Mrs. Ruby Morriss of Hemingford, Neb. There are also two grandchildren, the children of Mr. and Mrs. Jesperson.

In 1920 the family moved from Sarpy County to Box Butte County, Nebraska, where they resided until 1929, when they located on their present ranch, east of Hat Creek.
