Harry Fertig, Van Tassell, Dies in Crawford; Pneumonia Cause of Death

The community of Van Tassell was (saddened) last week when news came from the hospital in Crawford, Nebr., that Harry Fertig, one of its outstanding farmer-ranchers had passed away ---day night. Mr. Fertig had (been ill) for about two weeks, suffering from pneumonia. He was almost -- years of age.

Fertig and his bride of seven --- (lived on a) farm about four miles --- of Van Tassell, and was regarded as one of the community's ---. His residence in this --- the greater portion of -- .

Besides his widow, the deceased is survived by his mother, Mrs. Marie Fertig, and his younger brother, Leonard. Funeral services were conducted --- afternoon from the Congregational Church in Van Tassell. Reverend ---man, pastor, officiating. (From the church), the remains were --- this city, and interment (was made) in the Lusk cemetery, beside his father, the late Carl Fertig, who passed away a little more than a year ago. Arrangements were in charge of the --- mortuary of Crawford, Nebr.

Harry Finley Fertig, son of Carl and Marie Fertig, was born at Albion, Nebraska, April 21, 1912, and died at Crawford, Neb., March 10, 1933, at the age of 20 years, 10 months and 18 days. when about the age of three years he moved with his parents to Wyoming in the Burge vicinity and later moved with then to Van Tassell, Wyo., where he grew to young manhood and had many friends, who mourn his untimely death.

On January 24, 1933, he was married to Miss Elizabeth Clark of LeClaire, Iowa, and was making home with his mother.

He is survived by his mother, brother, wife, and many other relatives.

Funeral services were held from the Congregational Church in Van Tassell, Wyo., with Rev. Cowman officiating, and was laid to rest beside his father in the Lusk cemetery. The Modern Woodmen had charge of the services at the grave.

Those acting as pallbearers were Harlen McKelvey, Newton Van Sant, Lester Lewis, Raleigh Gagstetter, Emil Seegrist and Elvin Seegrist. Honorary pallbearers were J.H. Pendray, Geo. Siebkin, M.J. Kuester, R.L. Bancrogt, W.H.L. Fjordbak and L.D. Seegrist.
