Lloyd Scott dies

Lloyd Scott died early Tuesday afternoon apparently of a heart attack while driving the county road grader near Van Tassell.

The funeral is Saturday, Nov. 5, 2 p.m. at the Peet Mortuary. An obituary will be in next week's Herald.

Lloyd Scott, 56, dies

The funeral for Lloyd James Scott 56, was Saturday aftenoon, Nov. 5, at the Peet Mortuary Chapel, Lusk. Scott died Nov. 1 two miles north of Van Tassell, apparently of a heart attack, while driving his county road grader.

He was born Aug. 16, 1921 in Armoure, S. D., the son of Charles and Alta Scott. He was raised in Verdel, Neb., living there until he moved to South Dakota where he married Nadine Curts on May 14, 1939.

They moved back to Nebraska in 1941. In 1944 Scott entered the U. S. Army and served in the European Theater during World War II. He was honorably discharged in November 1945. He returned to Verdel for a time and then began working on road construction. The family settled in Lusk in 1962, moved to Mobridge, S. D., and then returned to Lusk to stay in 1964.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife Nadine, Lusk; four children, Mrs. Dale Myren, Mobridge, S.D.; Gary Scott, Lance Creek; Danny Scott, Glenrock; Terry Dean Scott, Scottsbluff; nine brothers and sisters, John, Blooomfield, Neb.; Marvin and Harvey, Niobrara, Neb.; VereGene, Creghton, Neb.; Walter, Scottsbluff; Violet Ebsen, Verdigre, Neb.; Karen Teaneau, O'Neill, Neb.; Fern Wasserburger, Lusk; Rose Ann Martin, Hebron, Neb.; and seven grandchildren.

Officiating was the Rev. Frank Blish, and organist was Jane Bardo, Tim Johnson was the soloist. Pallbearers were Larry Bone, Willard Frye, Grant Ward, Robert Baribeau, Bob Emery, Lewis Landkamer, Gil Jacobs and Bill Street.

Interment was at the Lusk Cemetery. He was buried with military honors by American Legion Weiten Dupees Post No. 4, Lusk.

Memorials may be sent to the Niobrara County Nursing Home.
