Funeral Held for Hazel Hall

Funeral service for Hazel C. Hall, 80, long time area resident who died May 1 at West Nebraska General Hospital, was held in the Peet Chapel May 4 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Frank Bozart officiating.

Organist Mrs. Edna DeCastro accompanied Tim Johnson as he sang "Some Time We'll Understand" and "Where the Roses Never Fade." Casket bearers were Keith Stetson, Thomas Bowman, Leo Leggett, Cloyd Leggett, Nels Engebretsen and Charles Engebretsen. Burial was in the Crawford, Neb., Cemetery.

Hazel C. Hall was born April 14, 1896 at Glen, Neb., the daughter of George and Emma Pullen. At an early age she moved with her parents from Glen, Neb., to Lusk where she received her formal education. She married Burtis Hall at Pierce, Neb., May 6, 1911.

They were the parents of 6 children. They moved to Ervine and worked for the North Western Railroad as section foreman. In 1916 he, and his family were transferred to Van Tassell, then in 1924 they transferred to Harrison, Neb. where he continued working for the railroad until he died in 1945.

Mrs. Hall then moved to Lusk in 1946. She was employed at the X.L. Cafe and the Memorial Hospital until she retired in 1958.

She became a member of the Open Bible Church in 1963. Mrs. Hall had just been awarded a 50 year membership pin in the Royal Neighbors of America Lodge 10770. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge No. 128 of Crawford, Neb., and the ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. and the American Legion Auxiliary of Lusk.

Survivors include three daughters Mrs. Arlene Leggett, Laural, Mont., Mrs. Velma Bowman, Colfax, Iowa, and Mrs. Gemila Stetson, Lusk; one sister Mrs. Loren Pickering, Crawford, Neb.; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
