P.A. Thrasher of Keeline Passes Away

Pline A. Thrasher, 76, died from a heart attack at his ranch home eight miles northwest of Keeline, Wednesday evening, Jan. 25th.

Mr. Thrasher was eating his evening meal when stricken with the attack and died before Dr. W. E. Reckling could reach the ranch.

His death came as a shock to relatives and friends for he always appeared in excellent health for one of his years.

Mr. Thrasher moved his family to Wyoming from Nebraska in 1914 and homesteaded on the land upon which the family are still living.

Funeral services were held in Keeline on Saturday at two o'clock with Rev. Farber of the Methodist church of Harrison officiating.

Burial was made in the Jireh cemetery with the funeral arrangements in charge of the Peet Mortuary of Lusk.

Music was furnished by W. W. Pfeifer, LaVonne Pfeifer, Mrs. Sam Couch, Mrs. Roy Elder and Mrs. Lee Thomas.

The songs sung were "I Love to Tell the Story," "The Old Rugged Cross," "One Sweet Solemn Thought," "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and at the cemetery the song "God Be With You 'Till We Meet Again" was sung.

The pallbearers were Potter Cox, Chester Wright, Hardy Lee, Orville Smith, John Hill and Eugene P. Willson.

Pline A. Thrasher, familiarly known as "Dad" Thrasher was born in La Salle County, Ill, September 14, 1862. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Thrasher. He departed this life Jan. 25, 1939, at his home near Keeline, Wyo., at the age of 76 years, four months and 11 days.

When a young man he moved with his parents to Adams County, near Hastings, Nebr. He was united in marriage to Miss Carrie Cooper, Feb. 23, 1887. Had he lived until February 23, they would have celebrated their fifty second anniversary. To this union were born four children, Ina Elvira preceeded him in death. The three whom survive are Mrs. H. C. Wolfe, Worland, Wyo., Mrs. Joe Stallman, Harrison, Nebr., and Mr. Harold Thrasher of the home.

In 1939 the family moved to Lincoln County, Nebr., later to Hitchcock county, Nebr. In 1914, the family moved to Niobrara County, Wyoming, where the family has since resided.

Beside the wife and surviving children, there are to mourn his passing away, a brother, Mr. M. E. Thrasher, Seattle, Wash. Two sisters, Mrs. Nell George, Vandergrift, Pa., Mrs. Adna Stebbins, Marseilles, Ill., seven grandchildren, a host of friends and neighbors.

He united at an early age with the Christian church. He was a member of the United Brethren of Boiler Makers several years, and a member of Ancient Order of United Workman for a number of years.
