Susan Meredith

Susan Wilson Meredith was born in 1946 to Wanda Wilson and Joseph Meredith of Lusk, Wyo. As the Granddaughter of Swedish and Norwegian immigrants, her personality stayed true to her Scandinavian roots. She was stronger than most and she created a beautiful life for herself and her daughter, Rebecca, against all odds. Critically injured in a car accident, Susan survived a coma and learned to walk again when the doctors said it was not possible. Then, after dropping out of high school to raise her first daughter, Christina Renee, it was discovered Chris had leukemia. Susan and Chris fought a long and hard battle for several years but Chris passed away tragically in 1974.

Despite the devastating loss of her first daughter, Susan returned to school and received not only her G.E.D., but she graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University - Sacramento, Calif. She worked full-time while putting herself through school, a feat not easily conquered.

It was in college she met and married Mehdi Maragheh, and she was again blessed with a little girl. Being a good Mother was Susan's main goal in life and she always put Rebecca first. But she was also an amazing teacher, not only teaching students about computers, but teaching them that there are no excuses in life. They were always inspired by her story and motivated to do better in their own lives as a result of hearing it. Susan also worked for many years as a technical writer, creating instruction manuals for state-of-the-art medical devices - including surgical robots. As a result of her expertise, she traveled all over Europe and South America, and she treasured those experiences deeply.

Susan left this life on Feb. 20 and her passing is a tremendous loss to her many friends, her brother Sean Dreesen of Lusk, her sister Sunny Terbrock of Osage Beach, Mo, and her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Ceasar Perez of San Francisco, Calif. All of who loved her deeply.

Susan was an amazing woman, a cherished friend, and an outstanding mother. She often said books saved her life. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to make a donation in Susan's memory to support children in need of books, please visit http://supporters.firstbook.org/goto/susanmeredith.
