Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Lusk.

Mrs. Wright, 93, of Story died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, in Newcastle surrounded by her family after fighting a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born July 28, 1919, in Manville to Clarence and Etta (Beck) Patten. She was one of eight children. She attended school in Manville.

In December 1940, she married Sherman Wright in Casper. They had five children.

They ranched in the Lost Springs area until he went to work for Continental Oil Co. in Lance Creek. Later they transferred to Linch, where she administered the school lunch program for 17 years.

She made everything from scratch, including bread, rolls and noodles. She later served as a dietitian in the Gillette and Buffalo hospitals.

They retired in Story, where she belonged to the Women's Club and Garden Club. She was a member of the Story Community Church. She was active in the senior lunch program. She enjoyed playing cards every week with her friends. She made lace by tatting, and countless quilts which she gave to friends and family members. She loved to cook and enjoyed the company of her family and friends. No one went away from her table hungry. She always said "There is always room for one more."

She spent the past five winters with her son Roger and his wife in Newcastle, and returned to Story for the summers.

She is survived by sons Gale of Gordon, Neb., and Roger of Newcastle; daughter Judy Harshman of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
