JOHN RENOT INSTANTLY KILLED BY LIGHTNING AT RANCH FRIDAY NIGHT

Victim Struck Down When He Gets Up To Tend Sheep At Father's Ranch

John Renot, 33 years old, who lives on Lightning Creek, about 25 miles to the north of Lost Springs, on his father's ranch, was apparently instantly killed by lightning between 9 and 10 o'clock last Friday night, July 1, while herding sheep on his father's ranch.

The unfortunate man was herding sheep about a mile from his father's ranch, and had apparently gotten up from his bed in the sheep wagon to tend the sheep, when he was struck a few yards from his wagon. When his body was found next morning he was lying beside a bedroll which he had gathered up, with the intention of staying out the rest of the night.

His brother found the body Saturday morning when he went to relieve John.

Henry Dielman, a neighbor, was called, and the body was taken to the ranch home. George Earl Peet, county coroner, was called and the body was brought to Lusk Sunday afternoon.

Funeral services were held from St. Leo's Catholic Church Monday morning at 10 o'clock, with the Rev. Father Fidelis officiating. Arrangements were in charge of the Peet Mortuary.

Deceased is survived by a father and mother of Lost Springs, Wyo.; three brothers, Fred and Francis of Lost Springs, and another brother of Ideal, So. Dak. Other relatives in Tennessee and Illinois who were unable to be here for the funeral
