Curtis A. Grimm Dies of Heart Attack Here May 1

Curtis A. Grimm, 60, of Lusk, died suddenly May 1 at his home from a heart attack. Funeral services wee held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from Peet chapel with Rev. Jacob Nein officiating. Burial was made in the Lusk Cemetery.

An all male quartet composed of Harry Lyon, Dr. Richard Collins, Lee Johnsonbaugh and Dan Christian sang "In the Garden", "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful Isle." Mrs. J.P. Watson was organist.

Active pall bearers were Lloyd Schaefer, George Sylvester, Bob Burgess, Wesley Wolfe, Fred Sheaman and Art Pollard. Honorary pall bearers were Owen Harness, Jim Rodgers, Mike Miller, Lawrence Doman, H.L. Joiner, Jens Rasmussen, Bud Cantwell, and Hill Boyles.

Curtis A. Grimm was born August 5, 1896 at Harrison, the son of George W. and Nancy K. Grimm. When a young man he moved to Montana where he worked on ranches and participated in rodeos.

He was married June 24, 1924 in Harrison moving to Lusk in 1930. He worked for the Ohio Oil Company for a number of years until he retired due to ill health.

Survivors include his wife Florence, and two step children, Mrs. Kenneth Gibson of Igloo and Frank O'Connor of El Paso, Texas and two granddaughters; four brothers, William and Frank of Harrison, Clyde of Spokane, Wash., Alvin of Lance Creek and two sisters; Sadie Meiers of Harrison and Emma Watson of Veradale, Wash.

Out of town relatives and friends here for the services (were) Mrs. and Mrs. Wm. W. Slattery, Vermilion, S.D.; Mrs. Joe Crameo, Mitchell, S.D.; Mrs. Mary Muten, Spencer, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gibson, Kay and Ann, Igloo, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Slattery, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grimm, Jr., Denver; Mrs. Curt Sieck, Lincoln, Nebr.; Mrs. and Mrs. Tom Hunter and daughter, Poison Spider, Wyo.; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Burgess, McFadden, Wyo.
