Adam Schmierer Is Called Home

Adam Schmierer left Lusk a little more than a week ago for Douglas, to enter the hospital for an operation. He passed through the ordeal seemingly successfully, so much so that his wife left him and came home to look after their affairs at the farm. It was with surprise that she learned a few days later that he had passed away. The body was brought to Lusk and interred in the Lusk cemetery. Rev. Johnson performing the last sad rites. Mr. Schmierer has lived in this community and was known as a hard working, honest citizen. He leaves several children, besides his wife, to mourn their loss.

The obsequies would have been under the leadership of the Lutheran minister had he been in town, as Mr. Schmierer was an adherent of that faith. Mr. Schmierer was born in Worm, Russia, September 17, 1874, migrating to this country as a young man, and like most of the immigrants from that country, found this a friendly one to both himself and family.
