Rebecca "Becky" Mary Davison, 61 passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, in Alamogordo. She was born on Nov. 30, 1948, in Dalton, Neb. to Perle Albert and Dorothy Orilla (Putnam) Davison.

She started school in Ruidoso and then moved and continued school in Alamogordo. In 1961 she returned to Chadron, Neb. where she graduated from Chadron High School in 1966.
Becky attended nursing school at St Joseph Hospital in Alliance, Neb. She worked as a nurse in Sidney, Neb. and Harvard, Neb.
She returned to Chadron to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Education, from Chadron State College. She taught in Zuni, and then in Alamogordo until her retirement due to ill health. She was a positive influence on many students over the years as a teacher.
She belonged to the Retired Teachers Association, Pan American Association, Daughters of the American Revolution, United Methodist Women's Red Hat Society, volunteered at the Cancer Closet, and was to be instated as president of Kappa, Kappa, as national president later this week.

Survivors include her sister, Marjorie Davison Hinman and husband Ed of Alliance; nephews, Ed A. Hinman Jr. and wife Sue; and great nephew Carl William of Rapid City, S.D., Kenneth Charles "K.C." Hinman, wife, Milly, and daughters Brittany and Ashlan, Nicholas Verner Hinman wife Jennifer and great-nephew Zane Wyatt and great-niece Aurora June, step-sisters Joan Scoop of Sun City West Ariz. and her sons Jeff and Barry and their families, and Linda Marshall and her husband Harry and their daughters, Elissa, Denise, Connie, and their families; cousins Al Clark and family of Milwaukee, Myra Susan Putnam of Florida, and Diana Putnam of Charlotte, NC.

She was preceded in death by her father, Perle Davison; mother Dorothy O. Davison Van Sant; step-father, Nicholas A. Van Sant; older sister Myra Susan Davison; and special cousin Orri Jay Putnam of Charlotte, NC.

A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mary Taken officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Closet.

The Davison family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home, Inc. to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place locally at PCS.
